Salt water aquarium fish unlike their freshwater counterparts need far more care and attention. There are certain things which you need to be aware of take into consideration if you intend to own some salt water aquarium fish. Along with making sure that the various breeds of tropical fish you keep in your aquarium are compatible you need to make sure that they have sufficient room as well. You should therefore spend as much time as possible learning about the various different species of saltwater fish before you purchase them for your aquarium. You will then be able to decide just which of the various different breeds including Angelfish, Tang's, Damsel's, Goby's, Hawkfish and Clownfish are suitable for putting into your salt water aquarium. Monitor Your Salt Water Aquarium Fish Tank Regularly one should be checking the water in the tank to keep an eye out for any bacteria, parasites or fungi in it which can prove to be very harmful to the salt water aquarium fish in it. Sometimes parasites and diseases are able to get into the tank without you realizing because they have come from a new tropical fish which was infected and which you recently put into your salt water aquarium. A good thing to be doing with any new fish that you want to introduce to a salt water aquarium is to get a separate tank in which they can be kept for a few days. This way you can keep an eye on them to ensure that they are healthy before you then move them into what is your main tank with all your other salt water aquarium fish. A small plastic tank that contains some gravel and some plants will be more than ideal into which you place any new tropical fish. Also never place more than a few new salt water aquarium fish into your tank at any one time. If you do this may cause levels of ammonia in the water to rise and is harmful to tropical fish and could lead to some of the ones you currently have in the tank dying. Feeding Salt Water Aquarium Fish The biggest problem faced by many who own salt water aquarium fish is that they don't know just how much food they should be providing theirs with. Many tropical fish die early simply because their owners have actually over fed them. Therefore spending time learning about the right kinds of foods and how much should be provided is crucial if you want your salt water aquarium fish to remain fit and healthy. Also giving your salt water aquarium fish too much food can actually cause damage to the aquariums filtration system leading to a buildup of waste in the tank.
