Be Fabulous and Divine by 2009! PDF Print E-mail

Another year is rapidly coming to an end! Were you one of the lucky few who actually followed through on your 2008 resolutions? Guess what? There's still time to be divine by 2009! Simply find an excellent weight loss-eating plan, make some minor lifestyle changes, and begin a good exercise program. Those three basic steps will help you cross off those old resolutions one by one!

The magic key to weight loss is consistency over time! Follow your plan over a long period of time and you will reach your goal. So, as a first step, find a realistic weight loss plan that you believe you can stick to and begin today! It doesn't really matter which one you choose as long as it appeals to you. Burning more calories than you consume is imperative. This easy equation will show immediate results on your bathroom scale!

Will you choose the healthier route and consume low-calorie options from the major food groups in smaller portions, or will you choose a "drastic diet" designed for rapid weight loss? That's a decision that you'll get to make, but make it carefully. Whichever route you go, you must believe that you can stick to it. That's what will make the difference! Start by purging your kitchen of unhealthy food items and replenish it with foods that will help you reach your goal!

Additional tips to help you become divine by 2009 would include eliminating or drastically limiting your consumption of alcohol. Alcohol slows weight loss and lowers your defenses when it comes to making wise food choices; so wait until the New Year celebration to indulge. Water should be your main beverage. Sweet drinks, even diet sodas, should be dramatically reduced and limited to special occasions.

It will be necessary for you to limit your sodium and sugar intake between now and the end of the year. Too much sodium is linked to high blood pressure and encourages fluid retention. There are many reduced sodium products on the market today and other seasonings and herbs can be substituted for flavor enhancement. Sugar, on the other hand, provides no nutritional value to a healthy diet. The more sugar you eat, the more you desire. Many health risks are linked to a high-sugar diet, including diabetes.

No weight loss plan will be successful over the long term without including activity. To be divine by 2009, you must commit to burning more calories than you consume! Cardio training, strength training, and flexibility training are the three elements to an effective workout plan. You must work at an intensity that leaves you huffing, puffing, and sweating, for maximum benefits. Cardio exercise such as power walking, running, biking, and swimming burn the most calories, but strength training builds a foundation of lean muscle mass that keeps your metabolism amped up.

If you follow these simple steps for the remainder of 2008, you will be simply divine by 2009! Start the New Year as a stronger, happier, healthier you!
