Losing the baby fat is usually put on the back-burner for the busy Mom and eventually she resignes herself to thinking that it's too late to start trying. It's never too late to get healthy and most Moms just need to remember their ABC's of how to lose the pregnancy weight. A is for Arms and Abs: Toning those abdominal muscles is one of the biggest goals of new Moms. Getting back to your size before giving birth and trying to trim your tummy is often the goal of many Moms. The key to getting beautifully sculpted abs, arms and legs is with resistance training. Using your own body weight at home especially with an exercise ball can do wonders. Using the ball to do crunches or squats against a wall will help lose the pregnancy weight. When using weights your muscles continues to burn calories throughout the day not just when you're exercising. An exercise ball uses your own body weight to balance and works more muscles at the same time. Plus there are so many ways to use it and you can have it right in your own home and burn the baby fat with a 10 to 20 minute workout. B is for Broccoli: Eating healthy is not only important for young Moms but for their babies too. You wouldn't feed a newborn a bag of potato chips or a sugary can of pop. Keeping things healthy helps when forming a life long habit of eating well. Often new Moms try and block out carbs in hopes of lowering their caloric intake. This is a mistake - it's vital that the body gets all the food groups to balance out what your muscles needs like protein and carbohydrates. You can exercise all you want but without a healthy diet you won't effectively lose the pregnancy weight for the long term. C is for Cardio: Cardio is the one area that doesn't need any convincing. Moms know that they need to get their feet moving but the common misconception will be that they need hours on the treadmill to lose the pregnancy weight. On the contrary, when first trying to boost your metabolism, it's best to do short interval cardio workouts at maximum intensity to increase your energy level and strengthen your heart. The smart way to keep shaving off the pounds is by challenging your body with interval cardio workouts. These workouts varies the intensity at which you do an exercise and this keeps your heart rate elevated and your muscles working hard. So you can add some 5 minutes of hard running to your jog or power walking routine to work your body harder to lose the pregnancy weight. The ABC's of fitness are just the basics to getting back in shape. Follow these vital tips first and you'll be inches away from losing pounds quicker. Losing the pregnancy weight doesn't have to be a battle when you've got the information you need to win the war. Advertise in this article
